Satellite Visibility Updated - Version 1.4.1
2011-05-17We have recently been informed by Chris Peat of Heavens-Above.com that this app has been generating heavy loads on their server. This is the website that generates the satellite predictions and charts that this app displays. In an effort to reduce this load, the app no longer downloads all charts for all the passes automatically. Instead, we've added a download button on each pass that lets you easily select which charts to download. Once selected, you can continue to use the app as normal. The charts will continue to be downloaded in the background as long as the app is running. Please keep in mind that downloading the charts is only required when you want to pre-load the charts for a location where you don't have internet access. Disabled the automatic downloading of all charts. Added a download button to each pass in the pass list. Added a chart selection screen to choose which charts to download. Added support for the network activity indicator. …

A HUGE APOLOGY to the developers for my previous review saying you could not view beyond mid evening. I have just found an option in the settings to view up to a week!!

I saw the ISS fly overhead at -3.3 magnitude tonight and it was awesome! This app may not have everything but for showing 10 year olds something they expected to be lame, they're now totally stoked on the heavens and want to see more.

First class application. Lists all visible sats over 24hr period with very accurate countdown timer and star maps to aid viewing. Just seen STS128 & ISS. Far better than ISS Viewer.
