Satellite Visibility is an iPhone and iPod Touch app that displays daily predictions for when satellites will be visible for any location. This includes all satellites bright enough to be seen with the naked eye including the International Space Station, and the Hubble Space Telescope. It can display a chart of the whole sky, or a more detailed chart showing the path of the satellite across the sky.

Available in the iPhone App Store

Features

  • Use the GPS to get your current location, or enter the location manually.
  • Define and save multiple locations, with a different magnitude limit for each location.
  • Highlights passes for satellites that are currently visible in green.
  • Dark colour scheme to help maintain night vision.
  • Saves passes and charts on the device for use without internet access.
  • Whole sky chart.
  • Detailed Sky Chart.
  • Ground Plot Chart.
  • Lets you easily select the charts to download for use offline.

The pass data and charts used by ISS Visibility are supplied by heavens-above.com, and is used with their permission.

PLEASE NOTE!

Since the last update, we've received several negative reviews in the US app store mentioning problems getting passes. Unfortunately, we haven't received a single email from anybody experiencing these problems.

We've thoroughly tested the app for the problems described using locations from all over the world, but haven't been able to find a fault. Past experience shows that we need to know the approximate location of the device, and the timezone being used to be able to replicate most problems.

If you are experiencing any issues with Satellite Visibility, could you please contact us with details of your problem.

If you are using Satellite Visibility without problems, we would greatly appreciate it if you could leave an honest review of the app in the app store.

We suspect that the problems reported are because of a mis-understanding of why satellites are visible, and the differences in the times that they can be seen between summer and winter. However, if there is a genuine problem with the app, we would like an opportunity to fix it.

Thanks.

This App is simply superb.

A HUGE APOLOGY to the developers for my previous review saying you could not view beyond mid evening. I have just found an option in the settings to view up to a week!!

I highly recommend this App to all as it is top notch, useful and accurate. Definitely a 5 star App *****

Great tracker! 5 Star 50x10.png

I've been tracking satellites since the days of pulling off TLEs from a BBS. Downloaded this program yesterday and gave it a whirl last night. It's very accurate and user friendly. Well done!

Great for Beginners & Easy 5 Star 50x10.png

I saw the ISS fly overhead at -3.3 magnitude tonight and it was awesome! This app may not have everything but for showing 10 year olds something they expected to be lame, they're now totally stoked on the heavens and want to see more.

Geeky but great!! 5 Star 50x10.png

I love this application emoticon

I've always liked looking up at the stars on a nice clear night, but this gives an actual reason to spot something too!

Just watched the International Space Station fly over even though it was pretty cloudy - it's so bright!!

Excellent app 5 Star 50x10.png

First class application. Lists all visible sats over 24hr period with very accurate countdown timer and star maps to aid viewing. Just seen STS128 & ISS. Far better than ISS Viewer.
